News & Views Second…Huh?

Despite the inherent weirdness of one Blog site referring to another, we felt compelled to go ahead with this one since one of our sister companies was mentioned (incorrectly by the way).

David W.G. Voyle of Nano Tsunami refers to CMP Cientifica as a news organization. “…CMP Cientifica do their bit, but my personal feeling is that they are both more business first and news & views second.” Hmmh….okay time for some sorting out here.

It’s worth noting, at least to us, that “CMP Cientifica” is involved in our many scientific networks and initiatives with the European Commission and running the largest technical conference in Europe: TNT. It’s not involved in the news service business at all.

Cientifica, on the other hand, operates TNT Weekly, NanoIncisor, Reports, and the numerous other business conferences and information products we provide, including this Blog.

If you don’t believe there’s a difference check out our two different websites Cientifica and CMP Cientifica.

Okay, anyone could make that mistake, but “news and views second?!” If that were indeed true, maybe we wouldn’t be upsetting so many people. A quick trawl through our website (dating back to December 2000 by the way) gives you a quick indication of the kind of analysis and debunking, which seems to raise the ire of many, we have been providing for nearly four years.

Confused? Don’t be. Merrill Lynch can’t tell the difference between the two varieties of Cabot (Corp and Microelectronics) and many people have problems with Merck and Merck (same family, different companies).

As far as Nano Tsunami, more power to ‘em. Keep it up. The more news the merrier. But “news and views second”, come on.

PS David, ik ben vaak weer in Mokem, bel mij als je wil ontmoeten.
