Reading a recent report on nanotubes it felt like 2001 all over again when most people didn’t have a clue what a nanotube was, but made up some impressive sounding numbers anyway.
This is perhaps the oddest and most questionable set of nanotube statistics we have seen for a while; we assume it got garbled in translation. If you base your business plan on this, it won’t get past the waste bin.
Now take the total production of nanotubes, divide by the number of grams needed in a 40 inch display and the number of nanotube based field emission displays sold so far.
Ooops, it’s that pesky ‘divide by zero error’ which is so often interpreted as ‘exponential growth.’
