Getting Nanotubes to Market

Carbon Nanotechnologies Inc (CNI) announced today the signing of a deal with thermoplastic manufacturer Kostat, Inc. to develop and commercialize conductive polymers for electronics module trays, carrier tapes and other electronics related applications.

While in itself, this is no big deal -carbon nanotubes have been used to make plastics conductive for years – it is indicative of a trend across the entire nanotech sector, that of partnering with an established manufacturer to take nanotech to market. As we have pointed out on numerous occasions, nobody buys nanotech, they will pay a premium for useful products, whether electronics module trays or stain resistant shirts.
