Despite having been involved in nanotechnology through surface science, research, engineering, business and finance for almost 20 years, Im always fascinated by the sheer breadth of applications of nanotechnology. One area that some argue has always been nanotechnology is polymer science, and I have heard physicists argue that nanotubes are in fact polymers, although the chemists in the Cientifica office have a rather different view. As a physicist Ill be treading lightly among the chemists as I give the opening lecture next week at the Nordic Polymer Days conference, organised this year by the Association of Finnish Chemical Societies in Turku.
After Ive had my say, Im going to shut up and listen for the rest of the week to what looks like a fascinating program.
