An invitation only think tank is taking place in Spain in December, and boy is there some thinking to do.
A starting thought may be that per capita funding of nanotechnology in Spain runs at a smidgeon under four cents, compared to 5.6 euros in poor little Ireland. Spaniards are well known for their sense of pride, and they have a lot to be proud of, from art to architecture, but being overtaken at the back of the technological race by Greece and Portugal is bound to hurt.
Let’s hope that this invitation only think tank invites some fresh thoughts, more of the same would be both embarrassing, and economically disastrous for Europe’s fourth largest economy.
