Nanobot fan Ray Kurzweil has a new book, as we promised, on radical life extension. At the risk of being labelled bioconservatives wed expect better from someone of Kurzweils undoubted intellect, pinning all his hopes on pesky nanobots. Let’s hope he has a plan B.
Despite taking 250 supplements each day and weekly intravenous therapies Ray belives that The killer app for nanotechnology, about twenty years away, is nanobots. Inside our bodies and brains, nanobots will provide radical life extension by destroying pathogens and cancer cells, repairing DNA errors, destroying toxins and debris, and otherwise reversing aging processes. Nanobots are computer-based robots small enough to travel in our bloodstream.
Hmmm, perhaps he should ease off on the supplements. We prefer the advice of the worlds oldest woman, Henny Van Andel-Schipper of Hogeveen in the Netherlands who recommends the somewhat simpler and tastier option of a haring every day. We recommend it “met uitjes en zuur” and an infusion of jenever.
