We recently commented on the pressure piling up on nano companies funded in the first bout of nano frenzy. Certainly the patience of investors expecting the get an exit within a couple of years has been stretched almost to breaking point. Intels director of technology strategy, Paolo Gargini agrees in Electronic Times, echoing what os becoming the Intel party line that We can make a few components using nanotechnology, but we cant make millions of components.
We at TNT Weekly always take Intel’s announcements with a pinch or two of salt, as like all good politicians, the more stridently they deny having any interest in an area, the more likely we are to see a product in the near term.
The article offers some comfort to UK investors, helpfully pointing out that as UK investment has lagged that of the US, the “potentail carnage” may be mitigated.
