Nanosys have inked another deal, this time with Sharp, to look at uses of their porous membranes in fuel cells for portable electronic devices. Fuel cells are a touchy subject, with the NEC versions being somewhat behind schedule, readers with good memories will remember how by 2004 methanol fuel cells were due on the market in large quantities.
The deal is unlikely to satisfy Nanosys sceptics. Signing agreements to develop technologies is a long way from realising the revenue potential from those technologies, and will only enhance nanotechnologys reputation as a technology that never fails to under perform the over hyped expectations.
