Timing is everything in business and especially in the world of PR. We had to chuckle when on the day that the Kyoto Treaty comes into force in much of the world, Konarka Technologies announced it is developing photovoltaic fabric with Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Surely someone at the PR agency could have made the link between cutting greenhouse emissions and solar energy, after all Konarka do have research and development subsidiaries in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, all of which have signed up to Kyoto.
