Nanostring announce the receipt of $4.3m of venture capital for their nanotechnology-based platform for high speed, completely automated, robust, highly multiplexed, single molecule identification and digital quantification. Apart from the preceding mouthful, details are sketchy, but the company is developing single molecule detection, something a number of companies are working on, but this time for applications in gene analysis.
The work has been spun out of Leroy Hood‘s Institute for Systems Biology.
