Highbrow US daily newspaper USA Today has a scare story about nanobots. Never mind the science, lets just pick over some ancient Drexler/Freitas stories, a few recent news items and dump it all in the blender. How else can we explain Freeman Dyson’s normally erudite explanations being mangled into because the size of an object is proportional to its speed, nanorobots would move, at best, as slow as snails rather than as unstoppable swarms?
Wouldn’t that result in elephants and whales being high speed blur? Odd stuff indeed.
