The Triumph of (nano)Technologies?

This years Reith Lectures are delivered by (formerly Sir, now Lord) Alec Broers who has moved from being vice chancellor of Cambridge University to being the President of the Royal Academy of Engineering ( who were very keen to point out that last years UK nanotech study was a joint effort between the Royal Society and Academy of Engineering).

Tonight’s lecture, at 8pm in the UK, or 2pm on the US east coast is concerned with nanoscience and nanotechnology and the preview on the BBC web site indicates that there may be more Drexlerians crying foul, conspiracy, or into their beer.

While the Reith Lectures date back to the days when families would closer around the wireless set with a cup of Ovaltine for their evenings entertainment, they have moved with the times. If you miss tonight’s talk, you can always download it to your iPod and listen to it at your leisure.
