Visionary Goals, Applications & Policy Issues, and, oh, a Bit of Science.

No sooner to we suggest that the Drexlerian wing get on and do some research than they publish a call for abstracts for the 13th Foresight Conference on Advanced Nanotechnology (can we suggest a study on how far research into this branch of ‘science’ has actually advanced in the last thirteen years entitled “From Speculation to Blind Faith While Avoiding the Lab?”).

The conference schedule, which lasts for a stupefying six days gives a hint as to the priorities, with the science being apparently tacked on as an afterthought so as not to spoil the fun.

Days 1 & 2: Visionary Goals
Days 3 & 4: Applications & Policy Issues
Days 5 & 6: Current Research

As in previous years, the conference has a strict dress code, with more details available here and here.
