It is rare pleasure to see a balanced headline involving such emotive subjects as nanotech and cancer, but recent headlines from the European Cancer Conference in Paris have contended themselves with âNanotechnology May Help Treat Cancerâ rather than the usual hyperbolic “will cure cancer.”
The idea is that âthe cancer can be vaccinated against itself (using nanoparticles as âintelligentâ carriers), meaning the immune system would then destroy the cancer in other parts of the body.â A more techical description is available on EurekAlert.
One of our regular correspondents who saw this in the Daily Mail suggested that âas I have both prostrate cancer and plenty of mice in the attic, perhaps I could be of assistance.â
